What Inventorama stores about you, why, and how to have it deleted. In short: only what you enter and what signing in needs, nothing sold or shared, no tracking.
Who we are
Inventorama is run by ceba.dev. Questions about your data go to support@inventorama.com.
What we store
- Your account: email address, display name, an optional photo and the identifier of your sign-in, and the households and shares you belong to.
- What you enter: your properties, including their addresses, and your items, including prices, serial numbers, warranty dates and registration links.
- Files you attach to an item: receipts, manuals, warranties and photos. They are deleted when you delete the file, its item or its property. Photos are stored exactly as uploaded, including any location your phone recorded in them.
- Maintenance visits you log on an item: the date, what was done, the cost, who did the work and your notes, with any invoices you attach. They are deleted when you delete the visit, its item or its property.
- Maintenance tips researched for a brand and model, shared by every user with that model, and which tips you have reported as inaccurate.
- Which reminders we have emailed you, so each is sent once.
If you share a property or invite someone to your household, we store the email address you enter and send one email to it, through our email provider.
People you share with see your name, email address and photo.
We email you about your own items — a warranty about to end, maintenance that is due — unless you turn reminders off on your Account page.
If someone invited your address and you want it removed, email support@inventorama.com. We delete the invitation.
If you email us, we keep the email to answer it. If you ask to hear when Pro launches, we keep your address to send you one email when it does, and for nothing else.
We use it only to run the app for you.
Why we use it
Everything above is used to provide the service you signed up for, which is the legal basis under the EU and UK GDPR (performance of a contract). The web server also logs each request's IP address, kept for 14 days, to keep the service secure; that rests on our legitimate interest in protecting it.
Signing in
Sign-in goes through ceba.dev's own sign-in service at auth.ceba.dev. If you choose to sign in with Google or GitHub, that provider shares your basic profile (name and email address) with us.
Cookies and browser storage
Two cookies, both needed for the app to work:
- a session cookie that keeps you signed in; the session ends when you sign out or after 30 days without use;
- a security token that protects your changes from being forged by other websites.
The sign-in pages also keep Inventorama's name, logo address and colours in your browser's local storage for up to a day, so they draw quickly. Nothing about you is stored there.
No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no requests to other companies' servers: the fonts and images come from Inventorama and ceba.dev themselves. Because only strictly necessary cookies are used, there is nothing to ask your consent for.
Who else handles it
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. In the app, your properties and items are visible only to you and to the people you share them with or invite to your household. These services handle it only to run Inventorama:
- Hostinger, which runs the server everything is stored on;
- Google or GitHub, only if you choose to sign in with them;
- Gmail, which sends the sign-in service's emails, such as address verification and password reset;
- our email provider, which delivers the invitation and reminder emails, so it sees the addresses they go to and what they say;
- An AI research provider (Anthropic) receives the category, brand and model number of items and the country of their property, to research maintenance tips. It never receives an item's name, serial number or user-manual link, your name, your address or your files. The web pages it reads see the same search terms.
Where it is kept
On one server in the United States, reached only over HTTPS. The database, and your uploaded files, are backed up every night, and backups are kept for 7 days. If you use Inventorama from the EU or the UK, this means your data is transferred to the United States.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, receive it in a portable format, or object to how it is used. Each property's items and its maintenance log can be exported as a CSV file from the app at any time; for anything else, email support@inventorama.com and we answer within one month. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Deleting your account
On the Account page, under Delete your account. Everything you stored in Inventorama is deleted at once, and the properties you own are deleted for everyone they are shared with. Your ceba.dev sign-in is kept; email support@inventorama.com to have it deleted too. Copies in the backups are gone within 7 days.
Items and maintenance visits on a property someone else owns stay with its owner, including any name you typed into them, such as who did the work.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the effective date above changes with it.
The rules for using the service are in the Terms of Service.
