About Inventorama

Inventorama is a free app for keeping track of what is in a home: the appliances, the receipts, the warranties, the manuals and the service visits that keep it all running. It works for one home or several, such as a rental or a cabin, and for the people you share them with.

What it is for

The moment it is made for is the one when something stops working: is it still under warranty, where is the receipt, what model is it, and when was it last serviced? Inventorama keeps those answers in one place, reminds you before a warranty ends or maintenance is due, and suggests how to look after each item. The Help page lists everything it does today and what is coming next.

Who runs it

Inventorama is built and run by ceba.dev. It is free, and it is meant to pay for itself through a Pro plan that is still being planned (see Pricing), never through your data: nothing you store is sold or shared, and there are no ads in the app. What is stored and why is in the Privacy Policy.

The guides

The guides are the other half of the same problem: knowing how to look after what you own, how long it should last, and when repairing it stops making sense.

How a guide is made

Each guide starts as a draft written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude), which researches the subject on the web. It prefers government agencies, energy-efficiency programs, university extension services and the manufacturers themselves, and it cites what it relies on. Inventorama.com then reads the draft against its sources, fixes what is wrong, cuts what is vague, chooses or takes the photos, and publishes it only when it is advice worth following in a real house. A draft that cannot meet that bar is rejected and never appears.

Every guide lists its sources and shows the date it was last meaningfully updated.

What the guides will not do

They do not walk you through work on gas lines, wiring, refrigerant or anything structural. When a job needs a licensed professional, the guide says so and says why. They are general information, not professional advice about your house.

No one pays to be mentioned, and there are no ads. If a guide ever contains an affiliate link, it says so on that page.
